Stupid Rules are Stupid

Trying to find an apartment to move to in a city I’ve only been to once is really, really difficult. Adding to it the fact that 99% of the apartments I’m talking to have a “No-snake” or “no-reptile” policy that they won’t negotiate at all is making it impossible. I’ve even offered to pay higher pet deposits or increase rent.

My two, two foot long snakes that are tame and won’t grow bigger than four feet long are a lot less dangerous for the apartment than those 55 gallon aquariums they allow. One leak or accidental slip and that aquarium would cause a ton of damage. Worst case scenario for Artie or Jack, they get out and poop on something. Or make somebody yell “OH HOLY SHIT ITS A SNAKE.” Which might make said person poop on something.

I wish we could magically have enough money to buy a house so I could not have to worry about these damned, arbitrary rules that defy logic.
